Arcade Party, Awards, New Faces!

Bob with BookAnother month, another new face. Another award. Ok, make that two awards. Plus an arcade party. But still only one new face. Well, new might be a stretch. But still…But first things first. Do you like old school video games? Free food and drink? Mingling with other folks, including your favorite Simplex-IT folks (or even me?) Ok, the part about me probably brought you enthusiasm down, but I thought it was important to be completely honest.Arcade PartyIt’s August, and so Simplex-IT is celebrating another birthday. We’ve made it to 11 years, and we’re looking to celebrate like we do each year. Well, not quite the same way. We’re not going to have the event at our offices, but instead we’re taking over (not really) the Quarter Up Bar Arcade in Cuyahoga Falls Tuesday, August 7th. They’ve got food and drink and about 40 or so arcade games. We’ll keep the drinks, appetizers and quarters flowing. Everybody’s welcome, click here for more info. Now, on to new things. Welcome to John McCarthy, who joined us in early July. He’s heading up our Business Development side of things (ok, ok…he’s leading Sales). John’s no stranger to the MSP (Managed Service Provider) world. For several years he was working with MSP’s as a representative with eFolder, one of our longer term partners. John was a regional rep for eFolder and worked with Simplex-IT for several years. He moved to cover another territory but reached out when he heard about the opening. Honestly, I thought he was kidding at first. But nope, he wanted to work with us. That’s when we knew John wasn’t quite right in the head. Yup, he’s fitting in just fine. You can reach out to John at JohnM@Simplex-IT.com and warn him about what he’s getting involved in.We also were pleased to hear that we won (for I think the 4th time?) mention in the MSP Mentors top 501 MSP’s for 2018. It’s one of the longest-running awards in the industry, so we were kinda pleased about that. The second award was somewhat accidental. We’re a customer/partner/friend/casual acquaintance of Technology Marketing Toolkit, run by industry standout Robin Robins (yup, that’s her name). Every 3 months about 250 or so MSP’s get together (usually in Nashville) for 2-3 days of deep diving into marketing, sales and operations near and dear to the hearts of MSP’s.There’s also an event there called “Golden Cone Competition”, where MSP’s present their own ideas that are working for them. I presented on our offering of CoMITs (Co-Managed IT services), and we tied with Justin Shelley of Master Computing. As you can see we brought home a rather unique trophy. And I can personally attest that this will get your luggage searched<g>.All this is in addition to our luncheon event Security Overview Seminar we held in July, a couple of webinars and more. Yup, we’re keeping busy. With more to come!
