Welcome Kate Jones, Technician
Hello! My name is Kate and I joined the Simplex-IT team on January 6th, 2020 as a Service Technician. I previously worked as a Starbucks barista at Target and as a student IT technician at Kent State University. I graduated from Kent State in December 2019 as a film student after 7 long years of changing majors and wondering what I wanted to do with my life. I had always been interested in filmmaking and video editing, so a film degree seemed like the perfect choice.Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our 3 cats – Bilbo, Buffy, and Mango – watercolor painting, video games, yoga, and watching tv. I am very much a homebody and do not like leaving my apartment unless it is necessary. I prefer sitting at home wrapped in a blanket with many snacks and watching a movie!I am very much into Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings. I also love history (particularly Ancient Egypt) and wanted to be an archaeologist since I was 5 years old until I found out how difficult it is to find a job in that field, and how much digging in the dirt under the hot sun it involved. Oh well! Now it is a hobby and I have several textbooks that I have purchased and read through on the subject.I am very excited to be here at Simplex-IT and everyone has been extremely welcoming and kind. I look forward to what the future brings!
