Welcome Brendan Walsh, Information Security Director

Greetings! My name is Brendan Walsh and I joined the Simplex-IT team on July 27th,2020 as an Information Security Director. Having known Bob Coppedge most of my professional career made joining an easy decision, and everyone I have met has been most welcoming. I am excited to share my knowledge and experiences with the folks here and to learn how the world of managed service providers operates. Before arriving here, I spent over a decade leading the cyber security program at Kent State University. Growing that program from the ground up prepared me for the opportunities ahead. Beyond assisting Simplex-IT refine and grow their own security program, I will also ensure the services provided to our clients continue to meet or exceed security and compliance expectations. Outside of work, I spend my time getting involved in the local information security community, updating my personal blog, participating in the Hacker Book Club, and playing the unique sport of broomball. I have also spent the past decade honing my skills as an amateur home coffee roaster with the hope of someday starting my own coffee roasting business. I am eager to help wherever I can, and I look forward to getting to know everyone in the Simplex-IT family!
