Blackpoint Cyber Nashville – Recap
Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend a small gathering of MSPs at the Music City Grand Prix in Nashville. Before we get into the business stuff, I have to talk about the fun side of this event.
For folks that don’t know me, I’ve been a car enthusiast and motorsport fan for a while. This started growing up with friends while we tinkered with our cars. However, on the autosport side, I’ve mostly followed Formula 1, WEC, WRC, and IMSA racing. There’s something I find really cool about these high-performance sports where victory is determined by how well the entire team performs.
It was really awesome to spend the day on the track with Blackpoint Cyber and Andretti Autosport. I loved the chance to spend time in the team’s garage, meeting the drivers, walking the pit lane, and participating in the opening ceremony. All of this was made even more awesome when our driver, Kyle Kirkwood placed first in the race.
Fun stuff aside, this was a very informative event.
For the folks that know me, I’ve lived on the technical side of security for years. However, as we evolve here at Simplex, it’s become more important to focus on the business aspects of a security posture. This event focused on that.
Our small group had the opportunity to work with Blackpoint leadership on how things are changing in the industry and how we can operationalize these changes. It was very informative and thought provoking to dig into those financial and operational benchmarks to grow our offerings while delivering that value back to the clients we serve.
I’m excited to take these ideas back into our practices so we can help our clients achieve their business goals securely.
