Simplex-IT’s Top 10 Moments of 2022

Simplex-IT has had a busy year this year, here are the Top 10 Moments of 2022.

10. As a company we exhibited at three different tradeshows throughout the year. We started in May with the AmCon Tradeshow in Cleveland. In October we went to the Manufacturing and Technology show in Cleveland. For our final tradeshow we were at the Design 2 Part tradeshow in Akron. Overall, these tradeshows were a great experience as we got to network with different businesses across the country. Sales and Marketing Director, Patti said, “Last year we realized our tradeshow booth equipment and materials needed an update. We did a major overhaul, focused on what mattered most, and refreshed everything. It was fun to see the new setup in action this year.”

9. We hosted the Channel Strong Tour. The event was fun as we met with other Managed Service Providers in the area and the various vendors that attended. The Channel Strong Tour had a fun time and really went all out with the events, delicious food, and beer! We are glad we got this chance to have an exciting time and give back to our local community by donating food!

8. In May, we bid a fond farewell to our office at Stratford Place, and we moved just down the road. Saying goodbye to the old office was tough as we had six years of fond memories there, but we are happy for the new memories to come at our new office.

7. In August, we celebrated 15 years of Simplex-IT with an awesome Arcade party at Quarter up Barcade in Akron. We had a fantastic time celebrating with our clients and people in our community.

6. We launched a content creation team and opened our very own production studio. We even launched a new YouTube channel. Over the year we were able to create over 65 videos answering the commonly asked questions we receive. We also got to create a few videos just for fun! Overall, we were able to create a learning center on our website to share all our educational videos.

5. As a company we really pride ourselves on always learning and always sharing, this year our employees were able to attend over 10 conferences such as DattoCon, GrowCon, Pax8 Security Bootcamp, Sophos MSP (Managed Service Providers) Workshop, Xchange Secure, Defcon 30, IT Nation Secure, IT Nation Connect, Nerdio Technical Training Camp, and Threatlocker's Zero Trust World. Attending these conferences is a fantastic way to network with others in the industry as well as learn more about the current events happing in the industry.

4. Simplex-IT was honored to receive some awards and recognition this year. We received the Case WeatherHead 100 Award, Channel Futures MSP 501 Award, and Greater Cleveland Partnership Best in Tech Finalist. Bob states, “I’ve always felt that the Weatherhead awards (which started in ’88, by the way), were the premier regional recognition for a small to medium business. So, this is cool.” Thank you to all the employees, vendor partners and client partners for helping make these awards possible.

3. Our team went above and beyond this year working hard to learn more by completing many different certifications.

  • Cassie: HubSpot Social Media Certification

  • Patti: Sophos Sales Certification

  • Ryan: Sophos Sales Certification

  • Daniel: AZ-900 & CompTIA Network+

  • Kate: CompTIA ITF+

  • Kurt: AZ-900, Nerdio NMM-140

  • Kyle: Nerdio NMM-140, Sophos Certified Engineer, Sophos Firewall Architect

  • Mat: Datto RMM certified

  • Troy: CJIS Security Awareness Certification, Datto Continuity DCDS, Datto Continuity DCAT, Datto RMM DCDS, Nerdio NMM-140

2. Adam and Bob sacrificed their beards for a worthy cause and others from the MSP industry. The Shave that Beard campaign was created to raise money for five charities and had an initial goal of $100,000 in donations. Once the goal was reached, they would all shave their beards and the money raised was to be divided amongst Hackers for Vets, Women Who Code, Bits ‘N Bytes, Diversity Cyber Council, and Bike Walk Wichita; with each organization receiving $20,000. However, the charity event doubled its original financial goal by raising more than $200,000 in donations and pledges. The event exceeded expectations, and participants of Shave That Beard were able to select a charity of their own to donate the additional funds to. Bob selected Cleveland GiveCamp, as his additional charity.

1. Keeping up with the annual April Fools tradition, we created a fake news cast to highlight our newest service, Hyper Security 2.0. We had a blast making the video and was a noticeably big highlight of our 2022 year!

Thanks for following along on our 2022 journey, make sure to stay tuned to see what we get up to in 2023! Happy New Year!
