Busier and Busier

Talk much?  Here’s how my schedule has been:

  • Spoke to about 100 or so MSP’s (Managed Service Providers, which is what we do) at DattoCon Paris. They came from all over Europe, along with North Africa, Canada and the US.  Apparently, my talk was one of the highest-rated of the conference.
  • Spoke to about 100 or so attendees of the Cleveland Accounting Show about “Introduction to Data”.
  • Spoke to a group of 10 QuickBooks experts at a gathering about Microsoft and upgrading strategies (Microsoft 365 versus Office 365, OneDrive versus OneDrive for Business).
  • I’m writing this in Orlando. In a couple of hours, I’ll be talking to another group of MSP’s about CoMITs.
  • Next week I’ll be speaking to a group of attendees at the Columbus Accounting Show, repeating (I never really repeat a presentation) the Data talk and also speaking about “Critical Thinking”.
  • The following week (Nov 14th) I’ll be hosting a breakfast specifically for IT directors of small-medium businesses. I’ll be presenting 3 tips to improve your internal IT process without involving consultants.
  • On November 25th, I’ll be speaking at the Great Lakes Funding Network, on topics covered in my book “A CEO’s Survival Guide to Information Technology”.

This morning at breakfast I sat down with my food (standard buffet grab ‘n sit grub) alongside Kevin Dutkiewicz (Simplex-IT’s Tech Director).  There were a couple guys from another MSP in Texas sitting at the table.  They spoke quietly amongst themselves, and then introduced themselves to us.  Turns out my session was one of the main reasons they came to the conference (which is IT Nation, one of the largest MSP conferences of the year with about 4,000 attendees).Eek.In Paris a couple of MSP’s politely asked if I would pose for a picture with them and my book (The MSP’s Survival Guide to Co-Managed IT services).Eek.Absolutely, there’s as much to learn as to share.  We’re coming away with some really great ideas for clarifying and focusing our cybersecurity offering, as well as some business development concepts and processes.
