Goodbye Office 365, Hello Microsoft 365 Copilot: What’s New and Why It Matters!

Hey there, folks! Today, we’re diving into the latest rebranding adventure from our pals over at Microsoft. You know them, you love them, and now they’re changing things up... again.

Remember Microsoft 365 Office? The trusty suite that’s been helping you crank out spreadsheets, presentations, and emails for years? Well, Microsoft decided it was time for a change becauuuusssse....reasons?

Introducing… Microsoft 365 Copilot! Yes, you heard that right. Copilot. Because apparently, your Office suite needed a co-pilot

Now, you might be wondering, ‘Why Copilot?’ Well, Copilot told me that “Microsoft wants to emphasize that their tools are here to assist you, like a trusty co-pilot in the cockpit of your daily tasks.”

Honestly, Microsoft has a loooong history of constantly renaming products and/or services and selecting strange names. I suspect that if Microsoft had a child, the name would be at birth “Louise” or something. Then “Louise Professional”, followed by “Louise Pro ‘25”, LP ’25, and finally “Crowbar Professional Student Version ++ Educational Version.

But in all seriousness, Microsoft 365 Copilot is a critical…no, it’s the critical next step for Microsoft in terms of new products, services and development. And nobody in this industry has the win record that Microsoft does with this sort of thing. So pay attention. I assure you we here at Simplex-IT are.

So, whether you’re a fan of the new name or just rolling with the punches, one thing’s for sure: Microsoft 365 Copilot is here, and not going away anytime soon. And here at Simplex IT, we’re ready to help you make the most of it.
