Types of Co-Managed IT

So you’re the CEO of an organization, small, medium business and you’ve got internal IT people and they’re ok but they need some help. Co-Managed IT Services may be the right fit. Or maybe not?

What I want to talk about here is really the 3 types of Co-Managed IT services. And by that I mean things that are going to help or assist an organization that still wants to hold on to their internal IT people. Also, this is something you can bring up to your internal IT folks because this is not replacing them, this is helping them. This is adding to their resources and creating a partnership that they can actually thrive under.

So what are the 3 types of Co-Managed IT services? Well the first is what I call Subscription, the 2nd is what I call Silo, and the 3rd is what I call Co-MITs.

Subscription is just that, you just subscribe to services or software or the like, you don’t get a whole heck of a lot of real value thrown over but it also is the lowest cost.

Silo is where you take an actual subset of your IT like business intelligence, sequel, some aspects of security, business continuity, or the like, and fully extract that responsibility over to the Co-Managed IT provider.

And then the 3rd is what I love to call CoMITs. Co-MITs is essentially where you take all of the, what I call the STAMPs, software, technology, methodologies, portals, all of the pieces parts that we use, and give them to your internal IT people and then possibly slice up the responsibilities and sharing them.

Now all 3 of these models are actually designed to enhance the productivity, the security, the stability, and quite honestly the quality of life for your internal IT folks. Here is a link to a webinar that we just did that went into all these things in depth.

So here at Simplex-IT we’re pretty much the guys who wrote the books on it, and I mean the books on it. Not only have I written “The CEOs Survival Guide to Information Technology”, I’ve also written the book, “An MSP Survival Guide to Co-Managed IT Services and “I Don’t Want Your Job, Is Co-Managed Services the Right Fit For You?”

And I also created and host the largest online Co-Managed IT social media platform with about 1500 members.

Bottom line is this, you want to know more about this? You can schedule some time to chat, or email me Bob@Simplex-IT.com. Again, more than happy to talk with you and your internal IT folks.

Which Co-Managed model works best for you?
