Announcing Simplex-IT’s Internet of Things (IoT) Conversion Kit

IoTThere’s no question that the integration of devices into the internet is one of the hottest uses of technology – termed “Internet of Things”, or IoT – that’s around today.  Cars, refrigerators, window shades, furnaces, even toilets, are all being promoted with features that allow control and monitoring from anywhere, thanks to internet connections, mobile apps, and web portals. But for the most part, the device had to be built from the beginning with that functionality in mind.  Devices (especially older ones) that pre-date the internet (let alone IoT) were pretty much out of luck. That’s why Simplex-IT is pleased to announce the game changing technology to fix that problem.  Introducing Simplex-IT’s “IoT Conversion Kit”.  This kit (currently in beta form), performs the following tasks:1>     Installs and configures the appropriate technology to allow *any* object to connect (through tardigrade-level wifi connectivity) to the internet and acquire a unique IPv6 address.2>     Creates a “tag” that connects to a portal (housed at Simplex-IT).  This portal allows a user, through a web interface, to actually monitor and manage the device. There are certain restrictions as to what objects can be converted.  Since the conversion kit works on the entire object (say a bicycle), if you want to monitor individual components (say the handle bars or each of the tires) the kit must be applied individually to each separate component before assembly.  Once the bicycle (continuing this example) has been assembled, the IoT Conversion Kit can be applied to the completed assembled bicycle. In such a situation, to manage/monitor the front tire (to monitor tread level or increase air pressure, the user would connect using the portal interface (either through web interface or mobile app) directly to the front tire.  To manage/monitor the entire bicycle (to direct it home, or change  an attribute such as color), the user would connect to the bicycle as an assembled device.Security is, of course, a concern.  All data would be encrypted using Simplex-IT’s Write Only Memory Binary Access Technology (WOMBAT), meaning it’s security is fully guaranteed. Each conversion kit comes with:

  •  IoT Con Kit Application Stylus
  •  2 tubes of Nanites.  Good for 10kg (about 22 lbs) of devices
  •  3-month trial subscription to Simplex-IT’s portal

As this is the first day of the second quarter of the year, Simplex-IT is very aware of the implications of this product, especially if we can get it to market in time for the holidays. For more information, please contact Simplex-IT at 234.380.1277 extension 6.
