Update on Changes Here at Simplex-IT

I wanted to take a moment to update you on some of the changes going on here at Simplex-IT. These have been in place for a couple of weeks, but now it’s time to “go public”!

As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional service and fostering strong client relationships, I am thrilled to share some exciting news about positive changes taking place here at Simplex-IT that will undoubtedly enhance our services and support with you.

I am proud to announce Patti Smerk’s promotion to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), a testament to her outstanding contributions and dedication to our organization over the past nine years.

Patti has an impressive academic background and a wealth of professional experience, bringing a diverse set of skills to the table. She holds a PMP (Project Management Professional certification) and possesses a BS in Computer Science and Information Systems, along with an MBA specializing in Project Management and Organizational Development. She’s held positions in internal IT departments, as well as external IT Consulting firms supporting both small to mid-sized clients, as well as large enterprise and government clients.

After careful consideration and in recognition of their exceptional contributions, we are also happy to announce the promotion of three of our outstanding Managers to the position of Directors here at Simplex-IT. Their dedication and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in driving our company's success and positioning us as a leader in the industry. Please join me in congratulating Jeff Buskirk, Service Delivery Director, Kurt Ketchum, Professional Services Director, and Adam Evans, Security Director in their well-deserved promotions. As Directors, they will have pivotal roles in shaping the company's future, driving innovation, and delivering unparalleled value. Each of them will be reporting directly to the COO position. I have no doubt that their expertise and passion will continue to help elevate our client’s successes to even greater heights.

Over on the Sales and Marketing side of things, we’re happy to announce that Cassie Riebau has been promoted to Marketing Manager. Cassie previously was responsible for managing our social media presence, creating content for our awesome videos, and helping with Bob’s podcast. She was also one of the initial team members that launched our new style of short form educational videos and our Learning Center at the beginning of 2022. Now she’s taking on everything else, including an awesome team. We can’t wait to see what she does in this role!

This is a significant change for Simplex-IT, one of the largest since I started the organization back in 2007. And yes, it was driven partially by the departure of former Tech Director Kevin Dutkiewicz . But this move is one of opportunity, not concern. Creating and filling the COO position has been a goal of mine for over 3 years.

We are fortunate to have such exceptional people here at Simplex-IT, and I am excited to see the positive impact they will make in their new roles. As always, if you’d like to chat, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly.

And in case you’re wondering, no, I’m not going anywhere.
